Extreme Home Makeover-Bathroom Edition

The other MAJOR rooms that needed updated in our house were our bathrooms. They both had lovely wallpaper and were just outdated.

Last week was my mother-in-laws spring break and she kindly offered to come help me work on them. So Josh got them textured and she came one day to prime them. The next day we painted and updated hardware. Josh got a hideous light fixture switched out this weekend and I finally got them cleaned really well!

Here are some before and after pictures. We are BEYOND thrilled with them and sometimes just catch ourselves staring :)

This was the only before picture I had of the guest bathroom. It originally also had shower doors that you can't see. You can get a little glimpse of the light fixture. There was another ball on the other side….that didn't even work, lol.

New light fixture up and BRIGHT!!!!

View from the other side

Our bathroom. The left was the very original because our bedroom wasn't even painted. I added the belly picture so you could get a close up of the wall paper

All nice and clean

(hehe, I was trying to hide behind the corner so you couldn't see how beautiful I look!)

WOOHOOOOOOOO!!!! That is the reveal. I know it may not seem like much but if you have ever seen them in person you would know how badly they needed updating. Even if it was just some paint and changing out hardware!~ So glad that is behind us and so thankful for my wonderful husband and mother-in-law for getting it done!

17 Months

Oh this girl. She is something else and we just can't get enough.

She has started signing like CRAZY! She probably picked up at least 40 new signs this month. It has really clicked and she uses it a lot. I'm amazed daily at her understanding of things and how she can put the signs with them.

Although she does get a little confused---I asked her if she was thru coughing the other day and she signed dolphin. I guess I don't speak very clearly.

And then any time you say window she signs wind.

My favorite though is one day I told her we were going to see Josh's grandparents, Nana and Poppa, and I look down and she is signing banana. She still signs it anytime she sees her or hears her name.

But she can pretty much communicate and tell us anything she wants/needs and I love it.

She took her dad in her room the other day and came out with this on her head….looking all proud of herself, but oh so serious.

My little baby giraffe

Little smirk

She knows where her tongue is :)

Playing peek-a-boo with daddy

LOVE HER!

Sweet cheeks

Our happy, little munchkin who blesses us daily

22 Weeks

Nothing really new to report….

How far along: 22 weeks
Size of Baby: A spaghetti squash
Maternity clothes: More and more.  A lot of my regular clothes still fit but grabbing maternity stuff is a little easier then having to try on several shirts to see if they still look ok
Weight gain: Pretty sure a few more than I was last time at this point--10-12?
Gender: 1 1/2 more weeks-March 31st!
Movement: Yes, especially in the evenings
Sleep: Still pretty good. Have to get up and go to the bathroom a few times usually
Food cravings: Nothing really---I could always eat something sweet though :)
What I miss: Nothing that I can think of
Symptoms: Belly!! Movement
Best Moment of the week: This is terrible but I can't even remember the last week, lol! It flew so by so fast. Josh and I did get to have an afternoon and evening by ourselves yesterday that was probably the best moment of the week but nothing really to do with the baby….except we did talk names!
What's different this time: Still feel like they have been pretty similar. I feel like I am getting bigger faster but other than that pretty much the same.

21 Weeks

This pictures are super lovely this week but I DID get pictures…so I'm pretty proud of myself for that :)

I'm over halfway through with this pregnancy and I still can not believe how fast it is going.

I finally got dressed and cute but Josh wasn't home to take a picture and I look SO SO awkward in selfies I just took a belly shot. Please don't be jealous of the our gorgeous wallpaper---it is getting a makeover as we speak ;)

Then I got ready and had makeup on and forgot to take a picture with my clothes on---but right before I washed my face I remembered and made Josh take one.
I know, I know, I warned you the pictures were super lovely. Belly is GROWING though!!!

Weeks 17, 18, & 19

The weeks are flying by so fast that I don't even think about getting a weekly blog post done :) But this time I don't feel like there is a whole lot of change from week to week so its probably better this way because they would all look the same.

I have been feeling really good. I am so thankful to not have pregnancies were I puke for 9 months and for those of you that do, you have my respect and admiration. I could not do it. I feel like we have been super busy but then look back and not really sure what I've been doing to be "busy".

Hensley and I went to Dalhart for several days for Braxton's baptism. It was so fun being home and getting to see everyone.

We are completely at a loss for names this time around. I'm really anxious to know what it is so that we can focus on one gender names. We think we have a girl first name but every name we put with it we don't like so not sure how that's going to work. Boy names----well----pretty much at a total loss there. Seriously, if you have names you love and are not going to use for you children, you are more than welcome to throw them out. Not saying we will use but sure could use some ideas :) Poor baby.

I am also SUPER excited because I started going to the chiropractor last week and already feel like a whole new person. My tailbone has hurt this whole pregnancy and he is fixing that so I'm thankful. I am also really excited to see how this effects how I feel and how my labor goes. I have heard such incredible things about how being adjusted can effect your labor and delivery and since I am going to try to do natural birth this time I want to do all I can to make sure its as easy as can be!

Week 17

Week 18

Did get a picture for 19 weeks yet but hoping I can this weekend and then put it up!

How far along: 19 weeks
Size of Baby: A mango
Maternity clothes: I have pulled out a few shirts and a worn some jeans once but mainly because my normal ones were dirty---I am still fitting into regular clothes
Weight gain: Pretty sure a few more than I was last time at this point--9-10?
Gender: Don't find out till March 24th~!
Movement: Yes--felt it for sure the first time on Josh's bday, Feb 18! And since then have started really feeling it more
Sleep: Still pretty good. Have to get up and go to the bathroom a few times usually
Food cravings: Nothing really
What I miss: Nothing that I can think of
Symptoms: Bump is here! Movement
Best Moment of the week: Starting to feel baby move. There truly is nothing like it!
What's different this time: Still feel like they have been pretty similar. I feel like I am getting bigger faster but other than that pretty much the same.

16 Months

I feel like this month she has changed a lot! She just seems so BIG! She is communicating a lot more, she is really into playing with toys and she is just a funny, funny girl. I wish I could video her all.day.long. I was in Dalhart on the day she actually turned 16 months so I didn't get a chalkboard picture so I am putting up several throughout the month.
Big girl in her pigtails

I just adored this picture---she never wears jeans and so she always looks so old to me when she has them on. Plus we got some super cute hand-me-down Toms!

Feeding her baby while I was at the doctor. We may need to work on our holding skills.

First time to play with play dough. She did GREAT. She loved it. She just tore it into little pieces and stuck it in the cookie cutters.

Headed to Baby Braxton's baptism

She was introduced to Cheetos---and, like her mom, is a HUGE fan :)

This girl is SERIOUSLY obsessed with Signing Times. It is the only time throughout the day that she slows down and isn't busy. I usually use this time to really get things done around the house or get my shower taken. This is how I walked in to her watching yesterday---crazy girl!

At 16 months:
-she got a lot better this month about wanting you to fix everything.
-she eats more than any child I have ever seen…and I'm not exaggerating!
-she loves being outside
-has 7 (or maybe 8) teeth--she will NOT let you look in her mouth
-walking/running
-still LOVES books
-New Signs: cow, cat, zebra, nice, rainbow, silly, sleepy, mouse, peach
-wearing size 4 diapers
-wearing a lot of 18 months but some are a little big
-sleeping about 12 hours a night
-pretty much one nap a day and it is for the most part getting a lot better
-loves stuffed animals and dolls
-likes to lay on pillows on the floor
-is beyond obsessed with Signing Time videos
-has a thing for rainbows--I think because her signing video but she LOVES them. She finds them in any book we have that she knows they are in
-LOVES reading her Bible. We read our Bible every night while we drink our milk and she loves it. She will some nights go to where we keep it and say please. I will tell her then that means we need pjs on and she will race to her room to get them. Melts my heart.
-she knows a lot of her animals and can point them out in books or puzzles
-she is really sweet with her baby dolls--she will feed them, put them to bed, love on them…makes me pretty excited for July!
-she likes to do "fast feet"
-she uses her eyes a lot to get her point across---they are the most expressive eyes ever
-loves to use a fork and is usually really good at it (minus getting the food on there)
-she has the most hilarious point…its like the Spiderman sign minus the pinky
-she can recognize and point to almost everyone in the family

Round 2 Begins--

I really can't believe that we are starting Round 2 of pregnancy updates but I am so so excited! I'm not promising that they will be weekly updates like last time but I'm going to do my best to get as many pictures as possible!
To be honest, although we talk about it some, it still hasn't sunk in that we are having another baby!!

Weight gain: A few pounds so far
Gender: Don't find out till March 24th~!
Movement: Not yet
Sleep: Still pretty good. Have to get up and go to the bathroom a few times usually
