And the stockings were hung by the chimney with care….

We got the stockings all hung and ready for Santa…

…and a close up….

In July, we will be adding a sweet little addition to our family.
We are so excited and blessed!!

I am 9 1/2 weeks and feeling great for the most part. A little tired and some nausea but overall great.

14 months

We didn't get our typical chalkboard picture but I thought this was a pretty cute alternative.
Another month has come and gone and this girl keeps us on our toes.
She is walking around everywhere, giving everyone hugs and kisses, and signing up a storm.
She is also getting into things she shouldn't and doesn't appreciate when we tell her no :)

We miss daddy when he is at work :(

And I had to include this one--we love our hand-me-down clothes and I love comparing the girls in them! 8 months and 14 months--love these sweet girls

At 14 months:
-she is finally freely giving kisses and hugging (like arms around you squeezing)
-has 4 teeth--maybe almost 5! Slowly but surely
-walking/running
-still LOVES books
-Signs: Please, thank you, hat, dog, more
-she loves looking at the pictures in magnetic picture frames on the fridge
-wearing size 4 diapers
-wearing 12 month clothes
-sleeping about 12 hours a night
-trying to drop morning nap but its been a little rough transition
-if she comes to a step (or what she thinks is a step), she will drop down and crawl backwards to get down
-loves stuffed animals and dolls
-likes to lay on pillows on the floor

13 Months

Woo-wee this girl is growing fast and learning new stuff daily.
I loved some of the pictures we got today from our little photoshoot.

She thought she was pretty big stuff today "walking" with her daddy into her room to take pictures.

LOVES her giraffe!

My sweet, baby girl

One year, and one month?!?

Sweet smiles

"Winking"

I love all of her facial expressions

Kisses for the giraffe

At 13 months:
-she is finally freely giving kisses
-still ONLY has 2 teeth but one of her top teeth is almost through!
-starting to walk a lot by herself but if she really wants to get somewhere she crawls
-still LOVES books
-if you start singing, she will immediately stop whatever she is doing to clap
-she is starting to really sign a lot--Please, thank you, hat, dog
-she loves looking at the pictures in magnetic picture frames on the fridge
-wearing size 3 diapers
-wearing 9-12 month clothes
-sleeping about 11 hours a night
-continues to be a blessing that we are so, so thankful for

Extreme Makeover Hawthorne Edition

Once upon a time, we had to move to Brownfield for Josh's job so we got to buy a house.
We fell in love for this house that was way out of our price range. But by the grace of God and an AMAZING real estate agent, we got it!

There were a few updates that needed to happen at some point. We immediately got to paint and take down yards upon yards of drapery but this year we finally got the opportunity to really make some drastic changes!

In case you forgot we had a little incident that got us moving (kinda!) on this project.

We are finally wrapping up this project and I have been so anxious to show it off! My husband did 90% of the work...the other 10% was my father-in-law and my self! :)

Here are some before pictures of our oh-so-lovely kitchen/dining area.

Beautiful blue countertops

Lattice windows (???) What the heck.....

Ribbed wallpaper

So my handy dandy husband and father-in-law got to work…
Cutting out those lovely lattice windows!!

MUCH BETTER!!

And this was a little comparison of the old versus the new :)

Josh painted the countertops himself using the Giani Granite kit!
I LOVE it!!

Got the backsplash up

Finished counters and backsplash!

Part of the floor laid!

ALL DONE!!!!!!

So just for fun--here is a little side by side to compare!

I'm so proud of my husband for the amazing job he did! It was a lot of work and took us a long time but it turned out beautiful!!

1st Year Stats

I got so excited about the one year post and birthday pictures I totally forgot about her stats and what she is up to!!

At ONE YEAR OLD:
-she will offer you a "bite" of whatever she is eating
-she is starting to give kisses to people and not just baby dolls or stuffed animals
-will lay down where ever she is when you say "go night-night"
-eating table food---and A LOT of it!
-still ONLY has 2 teeth
-walking with help but not really too interested in taking off by herself
-started doing this scoot thing--half crawl/half still sitting.
-LOVES books--she will look at a book for 10-20 minutes. And if you start reading to her she will bring you book after book after book
-wearing size 3 diapers
-wearing 9-12 month clothes
-sleeping about 11 hours a night

At her year check up she:
 -weighed 19 pounds 14 ounces  (30%)
-29 inches long (60%)
-18 inch head (75%)

1st Birthday and 100th blog post :)

So I am a little behind but part of me may still be in denial that I am writing a blog that my BABY IS ONE!!! It was the fastest year of my life....seriously. I am so blessed. I know that I only usually post once a month and all I do is go on and on about how fast time goes and how blessed I am but its the truth :)

I am overwhelmed by this little munchkin. She brings a joy to my life that I never could have imagined. Happy First Birthday, Hensley Sue Hawthorne.

I can't believe she went from this little surprise 6 lb 1 oz bundle...

To this fun-loving 1 year old!

Popo and KK and all the grands

Birthday Party #2 with the Hawthornes

Cruising around in her present--a little wagon

Awkward family photo :)

Enjoying her cupcake

YUM!

Not a Hawthorne Family Gathering without a competition.
This time it was a toe-touch contest after I mentioned that my dad could do the best one I had ever seen!

I love my little sweet pea and I can't wait to see what the future holds.
