Well we had quite the exciting weekend~!
On Friday night, Whitney called to inform us that she was having contractions and might be going into labor. She was only 34 weeks so we started praying and speaking blessings over her and Baby G.
Saturday morning, I woke up calling mom expecting her to say that they got the labor stopped and Whitney was doing good. Wellll...that wasn't quite how it went.
It went more along the lines of---they gave her a shot to help babies lungs develop, have tried to stop labor but her body really isn't slowing down, we aren't really sure what is going to happen but they'd still like to stop it.
That was all it took. I starting throwing clothes together for me and grabbing random stuff for Hensley--drove to Tahoka, dropped her off with her Mimzie and Pappy and headed to Amarillo.
They finally got her labor slowed down a little-so Rebecca, Britt, Shelley and I all ran to Canyon to get her house/nursery ready just in case Baby G still wanted to come.
Saturday evening slips by and she is still slowed down enough to where we go eat and head to the hotel.
Sunday morning arrives and they decided to decrease her magnesium a little because she is so drugged up. As soon as they do her body starts slowly progessing again. Dr comes in to check her--her body is progressing so they take her off everything.
*Note: My sister Rebecca and I have theories on why this is happening.
Mine: Her baby already is trying to one-up his cousin---"Oh Hensley can come 4 weeks early? Well I can come 6 weeks early!"
Rebecca: Whitney HATES, like LOATHES being late. She would get so mad at Rebecca and their friend Brooke in college because they liked to "make an appearance" and "be fashionably late" So Bec's motto is he is JUST like his momma and likes to arrive early :)
A few hours later, Braxton Gene Gilliam arrives in this world a whopping 5 lbs 7 oz!
(And that is 6 weeks early!! He would have been a BIG boy!)
He is precious.
**Braxton is doing really well. He is in NICU and probably will be for a while longer.
He only had to be on oxygen until Monday. He has started taking a bottle and they give it to him every other feeding. We are so proud of him!
I am SERIOUSLY going crazy only getting to see him on pictures and having never got to hold him. He is gorgeous and I am IN LOVE!
Please keep him and his parents in your prayers. We know that is why he came out so healthy in the first place.
Love you Baby Braxton!
He is precious, Allie!! Oh my gosh, so excited for you all!!
